Last year’s was pretty eventful as a rather nasty storm blew in just before it started, damaging our PA equipment, instruments and speakers. This year we were fortunate to have a beautiful evening. Lots of families came with their picnics and eskies and many arrived super early to secure a good vantage point.

The students from Room 13 made me very proud. They danced a medley of the cha cha, waltz and jive. They hadn’t really had that many practices of the routine and it was a bit complicated in places. They were amazing and received well deserved applause and cheers when they finished. Thank you to Annie from Room 10 who stepped in to help us out as we had odd numbers, and to Marilyn for all the help with the dance steps.

Top work Room 13 people! I’m proud to be your teacher :-)

This week our school is collecting shoes for the Soles 4 Souls charity. A simple donation of a pair of shoes can make a huge difference to someone’s life. Read here about some of the issues that can be helped by this venture.

To say they did a great job is a serious understatement. The residents had some wonderful feedback for them and we were told that they would be welcome to come back and perform any time. One resident had tears in his eyes when he told us of the pleasure these wonderful students had brought to them all that morning. Mrs S was very proud of you all, and I was very proud to be able to say that I was your teacher. Thank you :-)

This is a video of the two choirs singing Adele’s song “Someone like you”. Sadly the video stopped just before then end as the memory card was full (that will teach ne for taking so many photos and not downloading them from the camera!), but i still think it’s worth watching.

On Friday Eka went to Performing Arts and PE lessons with the students from Room 13. In Performing Arts he joined in with playing the drums and the xylophone. He looks as though he enjoyed himself.

In PE he worked on his ball handling skills, but I think he may need a little more practice :-)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On the weekend he went home with Amelia. He’ll be going to the Kids Teaching Kids conference in Adelaide with Amelia, Olivia, Trevy, Charlotte T and Hayley. I hope he learns a lot about the environment when he’s there.

This we have a special gest from Dunedin in New Zealand called EKA he is staying with us for a little while. EKA is a toy bird, She is Mrs Keneally’s class Mascot.

We are all taking turns for taking him home I  was the first I took him to my dance lesson.
