Last week our New Zealand Performance Choir and the South Hornby choir from Christchurch, New Zealand, performed to the residents of the Waterford Retirement Village. To say they did a great job is a serious understatement. The residents had some wonderful feedback for them and we were told that they would be welcome to come back and perform any time. One resident had tears in his eyes when he told us of the pleasure these wonderful students had brought to them all that morning. Mrs S was very proud of you all, and I was very proud to be able to say that I was your teacher. Thank you
This is a video of the two choirs singing Adele’s song “Someone like you”. Sadly the video stopped just before then end as the memory card was full (that will teach ne for taking so many photos and not downloading them from the camera!), but i still think it’s worth watching.

Hi I’m Jadein, and your children are beautiful singers. I really hope your class some how gets famous I’m from Mrs. Braidwood’s class. Is this your class or is this a school choir?
Hello,
My name is Alex and I saw your video for the choir it sounded great! Also, was it a little weird singing in front of all the residents of the retirement home? Anyway the song was great. Too bad the video ended right when the other song was about to be sung.
Hello Alex. I htink some of the students were a little nervous but they had been doing a lot of performances in the week before. Yes, it was a shame. I had forgotten to empty my memory card and it filled up just before the end of the song.
Hi Mrs. Thompson.
My name is Madeline and I live in the Comox Valley. I volunteer at an old folks home in the Comox Valley and I serve them dinner. A couple years ago I went to another old folks home and sung songs to give them company. One woman knew exactly what we were going to do and she was delighted. I think its wonderful that you took the time to do that. Is singing a hobby of some of your students? If not what are some of their hobbies? Mine are soccer, reading, writing, and colouring.
Hello Madeline. Quite a few of my students love singing and belong to two different choirs at our school. They have lots of other hobbies too – some like craft activities, such as card-making and scrapbooking, and others are very into sport, such as softball, basketball, cricket, football and soccer.
Hi my name is Josh. I’m from the Comox Valley and I’m grade 7. I saw your video for the choir and they sounded really good. We had to sing not long ago in the Remembrance Day assembly. Every class entered the gym singing a Peace Round. I’m not really into singing though but it can be interesting to watch.
